1 year resident to assist my team manage the Netbackup environment. Working knowledge of Netbackup 6.0/ 6.5, NDMP backups, VCS cluster, Solaris and AIX Operating System, Windows 2000 and 2003 OS, ACSLS, and SUN Storagetek Hardware is required. Proven project management skills is also a requirement. In addition, we need this individual to be able to trouble shoot backup errors/Netbackup problems, fine-tune the environment, work through firewall issues, configure media servers, develop project implementation plans, etc. The resident also would be needed to provide backup/recovery and system administration support including the following: Backup/Recovery Administration: Monitor backup jobs/Execute restore jobs/Restart failed backup jobs Tape Management Will act as a location contact for offsite vendor and hardware vendors to troubleshoot and provide problem resolution (e.g. Tape drive repair) Execute vaulting process, ejecting tapes as necessary for tape management Will provide first-level support for issues related to backup/recovery Will implement minor changes to the backup/recovery infrastructure (patches, minor upgrades) Generate reports (including trending and forecasting) on a regular basis per HClient requirements Provide guidance for and facilitate requests of hardware and media additions to the backup/recovery infrastructure based on forecasted architecture requirements Provide support on projects System Administration: Assist with gathering and reviewing technical details on relevant SF server clusters Will troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with servers in a large distributed environment Install new hardware/software as needed Work with company help-desk ticketing process and change control policy to maintain servers, naming service administration, user/group administration, installation, and configurationAssist with creation and deployment of optimized and efficient operating system base images.
